22 Jul Balance comes from within …
Balance is about resiliency. Stability. Peace.
Yogis like my daughter (that’s her in the photo) have given me the best explanation of balance as a state of being upright and stable amid opposing forces.
We talk about balance in the context of not too much of anything, or too little. It’s when things are just right.
Just right.
I designed my balance collection with these ideas in mind. Upright fluid stability, resiliency. Strength. The ability to right oneself when swayed one way or the other.
I set faceted gemstones in a position of quiet power between two forceful curves. The stones are in chased settings, with vertical walls on either side, in rings, earrings, and pendants.
There are many outside forces in life. Stresses. Obligations. Expectations. Injustices. The only way to survive and thrive amidst it all is to stay centered, inside. Balanced. The more grounded we are at the core, the more resilient and powerful we are. And the more equipped we are to make the world around us a little better. Or a lot better.
May in the internal forces be healthy and strong, loving and kind. And way more beautiful than a gemstone. One of the things I know to be true about jewelry is that it often has much to do with connecting us to what matters most in life. The jewelry we choose to wear is a bridge, a tool, a talisman, when we associate it with that which means the most to us.
