03 Oct An Ecosystem of Awareness
Somebody somewhere once said that time spent amongst trees is never wasted.
I agree.
Being in the woods nourishes me like nothing else.
I’m often told that my work has an urban and ‘weathered industrial’ quality. I get that. But it surprises me!
The terms imply a vintage urban aesthetic, which is often devoid of natural elements. But I see that as a natural progression as well. Key word: weathered.
Water. Stone. Bark. Leaves. Breeze. Heat.
What a palette!
More to come….
From my journal:
I endure summer
The way pioneers endured harsh winters.
But when a leaf falls
I move outside.
Stroll. Watch. Relish.
So ends the winter of my soul.
